Find your tribe: why creativity needs companionship

The creative mind requires a careful balance of solitude and companionship. Solitude is necessary in order to manifest creatively; only in solitude can a writer pen a new story or a painter apply a new brush stroke to the canvas. But both the writer and the painter need companionship to process and distill new ideas—it’s this artistic and intellectual milieu that stimulates and engages the artistic mind. The zeitgeist, or the spirit of the time, manifests itself in the work of its creatives.
