A row of freshly cut logs stacked several feet high forms a wall next to a cabin in Margaretville. Just one week ago, these logs were trees that surrounded the house, a team of oaks that once provided summer shade now reassigned to provide winter warmth. To the left of the driveway, leaves swirl, collected on a deck in front of a glass door with wooden trim and a matte brass lever handle. Inside is an artist, organizing paperwork at a black wooden coffee table. These are the elements of a home, seemingly static and possibly insignificant to passersby; they make up an intricate method of living that promotes creativity for the inhabitant.
