Melodic waves of sound emanate from the speakers behind Kelli Cain. As lightly thumping beats lay down a pace, tiny whirls of clay undulate in time with her potter’s wheel. Kelli is a ceramicist, a musical producer, a land tender, a goat mother, partner to Brian Crabtree, and a Catskills resident intertwined with the revolution of things. Her pottery bat revolves, as does the clay that sits upon it. The cyclical nature of our seasons, specifically those marked by life in the mountains, is mirrored at the potter’s wheel. Today, it’s winter, but tomorrow it will not be.
